Gold in a Bottle Alaska Gold Rush 24 Carat Pure Gold in Liquid in Cylindrical Bottle With Cork Vintage Paperweight and Conversation Piece. This bottle contains fine foil pieces of 24K gold in a liquid suspension, probably an oil. There is black lettering on the bottle which reads, "Alaska Gold Rush 24 Carat Pure Gold". The Klondike Gold Rush started in 1896-7. The bottle is approximately two and one-half inches tall by nine-sixteenths inch high. There is a cork in the bottleneck. The bottle is in fine vintage condition and has not leaked when I have left it on its side. Shake the bottle and the contained gold swirls around, then quickly settles. For price comparison, when gold is at $1800, one gram of pure gold is worth $57.87. A conversation piece that can be used as a paperweight. Neat!
