The stuffy things are the most loved by the girls even when they reach their teenage they do not leave them. Younger girls also love to have their teddy bears and stuff dolls with them. There are certain phenomena that can be considered as the reason of this association of stuff toys with girls.
The association and Hugs
Girls are lovely and caring by nature and like cute and soft things. There loving nature is what makes girls like the soothing and light “pink” color. So there is a natural association of girls towards stuff toys. They like to pick them and hug them. Little angels love to sleep with their stuff dolls and teddy bears. The cuddly and soft texture give them relief and comfort. Girls feel love hugging their stuff toys like mothers. This is the part of their soft personality that becomes prominent when they grow up and hold a family. Girls feel and assume stuff toy as their friend.
Stereotype
It is a stereotype that girls should play with the stuff toys. We teach little girls from their childhood that they have to play with the dolls and teddy bears and they take care of them like a little kid. Stuff toys are girlish and they are gifted to girls. Boys should play with cars, and other boyish toys. Girls learn to make home from an early age building a doll house of her stuffy doll or teddy bear’s nook.
Social Pressure
We do not give a car or blocks toy to a girl and force a boy to play with his own toys rather to touch sister’s teddy bear. The stereotype has made it social pressure on the kids that girls can only have stuff toys for her. This leads a girl to get attached with the stuff toys she has.
Stuff toys help with depression
Hugs with stuff toys are considered the security and positivity as proved by the researches that the kids who take their blankets or teddy bears with them are less depressed and physiologically secured.
